At Special Care Australia, we empower young individuals through our Youth Employment Services (YES) program, guiding them towards fulfilling careers. We start with a detailed assessment of each participant’s interests, talents, and skills to identify their unique strengths and passions.
Catalogues Distribution
Our YES program includes catalogues distribution, where participants deliver marketing materials to homes and businesses. This role teaches organisational and time-management skills, reliability, and efficiency. It also encourages physical activity and helps participants become familiar with their local community, fostering confidence and a sense of belonging.
Car Wash
In our car wash segment, participants gain hands-on experience in vehicle cleaning and maintenance. They learn best practices for washing, waxing, and detailing cars, focusing on attention to detail and customer satisfaction. This role develops a strong work ethic, teamwork, and communication skills, providing a foundation for careers in automotive services or entrepreneurship.
Warehousing (via Shopify Orders)
Our warehousing program, facilitated through managing Shopify orders, introduces participants to e-commerce and logistics. They learn order processing, inventory management, and packaging. This role involves using warehouse management software and emphasises accuracy and efficiency. Participants develop organisation, problem-solving, and time management skills, preparing them for careers in logistics, retail, and supply chain management.
Computer Skills
We offer comprehensive training in basic and advanced computer skills, including word processing, spreadsheets, presentation tools, email communication, and internet research. Advanced training covers coding, graphic design, and digital marketing. Mastery of computer skills enhances employability, preparing participants for various industries, including technology, finance, marketing, and administration.
Gardening
Our gardening program provides a therapeutic and rewarding experience, teaching participants about plant care, landscaping, and sustainable gardening practices. This role promotes physical activity and mental health benefits. Participants gain knowledge in horticulture, soil management, and garden design, with skills transferable to careers in landscaping, agriculture, and environmental science. Gardening fosters patience, responsibility, and environmental sustainability.
Woodwork
Participants in our woodwork program learn to use tools and techniques to create wooden objects, enhancing fine motor skills, precision, and attention to detail. This role fosters creativity and problem-solving abilities. Woodwork can lead to careers in carpentry, furniture making, and construction, instilling a sense of accomplishment and pride in creating tangible products.
Travel Training
Travel training is a crucial component of the YES program, fostering independence and confidence. Participants learn to navigate public transportation, read schedules, and plan routes effectively, preparing them for commuting to work and participating in community activities. Mastering travel skills enhances their freedom and self-reliance.
